Devlog #1: Posing the Orc into a Sorfc

The Orc was already rigged. Turns out "already rigged" and "ready to surf" are two very different things.

Devlog #1: Posing the Orc into a Sorfc

Lucky for me, the Orc was already rigged and almost properly weight painted, so I could just grab the rig and start posing.

The kung fu surfing stance

I really enjoyed the process of analyzing my own body - where do the arms and legs go when you are going into a surfing stance.

When it comes to the rigged Orc, I had some challenges when adjusting the elbows and knees, as the arms and legs started to lose some muscle volume. But with some weight painting touch-ups I was able to bring the shape back.

You can see in the GIF below, how the right arm’s muscles bend when bending the elbow.

Afterwords

Do not judge a book by its cover, even Orcs have hidden layers. They have a softer side, they like to surf.

Next up: Slicing and getting onto the print bed.
