Devlog #4: Break a leg - literally
Every great protagonist has an Achilles heel. And Shmulis is no exception.

The weight distribution of the statue was something I didn’t take into account. When you lift the 10 kg (22 lb) statue up, you lose the feel of where the legs are, since most of the weight sits at the top. And because of the thin layer of plastic, the legs have the structural integrity of matchsticks.
So whenever I was carrying it around and lost that feel, and one time I put it down with more force than I should have - and the leg broke.

I screwed up, and then I had screwed it
The joints between the legs and the feet are the Achilles heel of the statue. In order to provide additional support, I added a few screws to the leg, and with a great amount of polyester resin, the leg was back in place.
I also did that for the other leg, just to be sure that I don’t need to screw it again.

Lessons learned
Carry the statue upside down.
When designing and printing a statue at this scale, consider the weight distribution and the structural integrity of the parts.
